Colleen Briney

Vice Provost, Planning at University of Arkansas System

Colleen Briney is the Vice Provost for Planning at the University of Arkansas System. Colleen has held this position since June 2015.

Colleen has a long history with the University of Arkansas, having served as the Assistant Dean for Finance in the College of Engineering from August 2004 to June 2015. In this role, they were responsible for budgeting, financial analysis and reporting, business policy and compliance.

From June 2015 to December 2018, Colleen served as the Associate Vice Chancellor for Business Affairs in the University of Arkansas' Business Affairs office. In this role, they were responsible for the financial operations of the university.

Prior to their time at the University of Arkansas, Colleen served as the Accounting Center Director at the University of Arkansas - Sam M. Walton College of Business from January 2002 to December 2004. In this role, they were responsible for the accounting operations of the college.

Colleen began their career at the University of Arkansas as a Research Associate in the Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station from January 1998 to December 2002. In this role, they conducted research on various agricultural topics.

Colleen Briney has a Masters in Accounting from the University of Arkansas and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science - Public Law from the University of California, Los Angeles. Colleen also has certification from The Arkansas State Board of Public Accountancy as a CPA.

Colleen Briney reports to Donald Bobbitt, President. They work with Suzanne McCray - Dean of Admissions & Vice Provost, Enrollment Services, Anna Zajicek - Interim Vice Provost, Faculty Affairs, and Mike Malone - Vice Chancellor, Economic Development.
