Alec Bennett

Alec Bennett serves as the Head of Data & Insights Service at Bath Spa University since August 2020, overseeing data analysis and insights across the institution. Additionally, Alec holds the role of Business Intelligence Manager at the same university and is an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at the University of Bristol, promoting collaboration between the meteorological sensor industry and academia. With extensive experience in meteorology, Alec has been a Consultant Meteorologist and Meteorological Products Manager at Biral UK since November 2011, focusing on the development and performance of meteorological sensors. As Managing Director of Sandstone Training Ltd since April 2017, Alec provides specialized training in IT and meteorology. Previously, Alec worked as an Information Analyst for Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust and was a Senior Scientist at the Met Office. Educationally, Alec holds a PhD in Meteorology and is pursuing an Executive MBA, alongside other advanced degrees in meteorology and geophysical sciences.
