Helen Abbott

Helen Abbott is a Professor of Modern Languages at the University of Birmingham, a position held since September 2016, and serves as a member of the AHRC Advisory Board since September 2021. Previously, Helen Abbott was a Senior Lecturer at The University of Sheffield and held various positions such as Lecturer and Head of French at Bangor University, as well as Graduate Teaching Assistant and Visiting Lecturer at King's College London and the University of Roehampton, respectively. With a strong academic background, Helen Abbott completed a Doctor of Philosophy in French Literature and Culture at King's College London and has engaged in significant research initiatives, including serving as Principal Investigator for The Baudelaire Song Project and participating in the AHRC-funded network Contemporary French Poetic Practice: An Interdisciplinary Approach. Additionally, Helen Abbott contributes to the field as an editor of Dix-Neuf and has experience in investment banking.
