William (Bill) Bloss is a highly experienced academic with a focus on air pollution and atmospheric chemistry. Currently serving as PVC and Head of College for Life & Environmental Sciences at the University of Birmingham since January 2007, William also holds the title of Professor of Atmospheric Science. Prior to this role, William was Deputy Head of the College of Life & Environmental Sciences and Head of the School of Geography, Earth & Environmental Sciences at the University of Leeds from November 2001 to December 2006, and began their career as a Lecturer in the School of Chemistry at the same institution. Earlier experience includes a position as a Postdoctoral Scholar at the California Institute of Technology, collaborating with the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory. William's academic credentials include a BA and PhD from the University of Cambridge, achieved between 1992 and 1999, following studies at Godalming College from 1989 to 1991.
