Andrew Smith

Andrew Smith is the current Director of Finance at the University of London. Andrew has previously held the position of Interim Deputy Director of Finance at the University of Birmingham from June 2021 to November 2021. Prior to that, they were Interim Finance Director at the University of London from February 2017 to June 2021. Andrew has also been Financial Controller at Health Unlimited from April 2015 to January 2017, and Management Accounting Manager at Young Lives vs Cancer from July 2010 to June 2015. Andrew began their career as an Assistant Management Accountant / Financial Accountant (Secondment) at Business in the Community from January 2009 to September 2009. Andrew then went on to work as an Assistant Accountant at The Household of TRH The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall from July 2005 to July 2010. Most recently, they were PEP & ISA Administrator at BNP Paribas from February 2004 to August 2004.

Andrew Smith has a degree in law from Teesside University and a professional qualification from the University of Law. Andrew also has a finance qualification from Kaplan Financial and is certified by CIMA in ACMA and CGMA.

They work with Mark Newton - Managing Director, CoSector, Jacob Crittenden - Director, ITDS, and Andrew Howarth - Director, Residential Services. Their manager is Rita Akushie, CFO.
