Virginia N. Meehan

Virginia Meehan is an experienced professional in government relations and public policy with extensive expertise in higher education advocacy. Currently serving as the Director of Federal Relations at the University of Maryland since May 2016, Virginia has previously held the same title at Northwestern University from June 2012 to May 2016. Prior to these roles, Virginia worked as a Government Relations Associate at Lewis-Burke Associates LLC, focusing on biomedical research, human space flight, and telecommunications policy. Virginia's government experience also includes positions as a Legislative Assistant for Congressman Ron Klein, managing multiple policy areas and authoring legislation, as well as roles with Congressmen Robert Wexler and Rahm Emanuel. Virginia holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Miami University.
