Hunter Yarborough

Hunter Yarborough has extensive work experience in the field of financial aid. Currently, they hold the position of Associate Director of Financial Aid at the University of North Carolina Asheville, which they started in May 2023. Prior to this role, they worked as the Assistant Director of Financial Aid at the same university starting in June 2022.

Before joining the University of North Carolina Asheville, Hunter worked at Western Carolina University. From November 2018 to June 2022, they served as the Assistant Director of Student Financial Aid. Prior to this, they worked as an Environmental Services Technician from October 2014 to November 2018, and as a Graduate Intern in the Office of Leadership and Student Involvement from May 2017 to August 2017.

In 2018, Hunter also completed a brief Graduate Internship at Southwestern Community College in Disability Services in January 2018.

Hunter Yarborough obtained a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree with a focus on Higher Education Student Affairs from Western Carolina University from 2015 to 2018. Prior to that, from 2009 to 2013, they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Wilderness Leadership and Experiential Education from Brevard College.
