Giampiero Pietrocola

Giampiero Pietrocola serves as an Associate Professor and Senior Research Scientist in Biochemistry at Università degli Studi di Pavia since 2004, focusing on the significance of Staphylococcus and Streptococcus species in invasive human infections, particularly methicillin-resistant strains. As a co-founder of Polimeryx from 2014 to December 2021, a spin-off from Università di Pavia, Giampiero contributed to a project that merges research expertise in biochemistry, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical sciences, offering consultancy services in the design of complex natural and synthetic polymers, recombinant protein production, and the development of innovative therapeutic systems and medical devices. Giampiero holds a specialization in Microbiology and Virology, as well as a PhD in Biochemistry, both obtained from Università di Pavia.
