Sharla Hooper

Sharla Hooper is an accomplished communications professional with extensive experience in strategic communications and media relations. Currently serving as the Director of External Communications and Media Relations at the University of Phoenix since August 2021, Sharla previously held the role of Director of Communications at Terros Health, where responsibilities included overseeing communication strategies and branding initiatives. Additionally, Sharla worked at the Arizona Medical Association as Associate VP of Communication and Accreditation, managing comprehensive communications efforts. Earlier professional experiences include administrative support at the CFA Institute and academic roles at James Madison University. Sharla holds an MA in English from James Madison University, along with various other relevant educational credentials, including a Certificate in Non-Profit/Public/Organizational Management from the American Express Leadership Academy.
