Marc B. Parlange

Marc B. Parlange is currently the President at University of Rhode Island. Prior to this, they were a Professor at Monash University, The University of British Columbia, and EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne). Marc has also been an Affiliate Scientist at National Center for Atmospheric Research and Chair of the Department of Geography and Environmental Engineering at Johns Hopkins University.

Parlange has been widely recognized for their work in the field of environmental engineering. Marc has won numerous awards, including the American Geophysical Union Hydrology Section’s Horton Research Grant and the Environmental Protection Agency’s Science To Achieve Results Fellowship. In addition, they were elected as a Fellow of both the American Geophysical Union and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.

Marc B. Parlange received their Master of Science (MSc) and PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Cornell University. Marc also holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Applied Mathematics from Griffith University. Marc is certified by the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia in P.Eng.
