Lay'la Harmon is currently serving as Co President of Ngoma African Dance Company at the University of Richmond, fostering cross-cultural experiences through dance. As an Orientation Advisor, Lay'la facilitates discussions on diversity and inclusion to support new students transitioning to higher education. Additionally, Lay'la contributes as a Research Assistant for the Equity Research Lab, focusing on inequities in transplantation and organ donation. Previous experience includes an internship at the Science Museum of Virginia's FORGE educational maker space, where engaging STEAM workshops were designed and facilitated, and a Servant Leader Internship with the Children's Defense Fund, promoting literacy and STEM learning for K-8 students in Camden. Lay'la's work history also includes a role as Store Cashier at Phil & Jim’s Delicatessen. Lay'la is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology at the University of Richmond, with an expected graduation in May 2025.
