Michael Barr

Michael Barr currently serves as the Associate Vice President, Information and Communications Technology, and CIO at the University of Saskatchewan, a position held since April 2024. Previously, Michael held the role of Chief Information Officer at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology from April 2019 to March 2024 and at Mount Royal University from January 2015 to March 2019. Michael's experience includes significant leadership roles at Calgary Catholic School District, MB Barr Consulting Inc., and Eveready Energy Services Ltd., focusing on IT infrastructure, strategic planning, and project management. Educational qualifications include an MBA in Project Management from Athabasca University and a Bachelor of Commerce in Information Systems from the University of Calgary, along with ongoing doctoral studies in Higher Education Administration at the University of Bath.
