Coleman Carlisle has a diverse work experience that spans over a decade. Coleman has held various roles in different organizations, primarily in the field of career development, leadership development, and public policy advocacy.
Starting in 2006, Coleman served as the Leadership Seminar Chair for the Mississippi Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership Foundation, where they organized and ran leadership seminars for high school students.
In 2008, Coleman worked as a Compliance Analyst for the Mississippi Development Authority Small Rental Assistance Program.
From 2009 to 2011, they were an Associate at Begley Law Firm, PLLC.
In 2011, Coleman became a Graduate Assistant for the Leonard Leadership Scholars Program in the Institute for Leadership Advancement at the Terry College of Business, where they provided leadership training to Terry College Business majors.
From 2013 to 2016, Coleman worked at the University of South Carolina as a Leadership Coach at the Leadership and Service Center. In this role, they connected student leaders to involvement, leadership, and service opportunities and developed leadership development programming.
From 2016 to 2017, Coleman served as the Assistant Director of BBA Student Life at the Wisconsin School of Business, where they oversaw student leadership development programs and supported business student organizations.
From 2017 to 2020, they worked at Florida State University as a Senior Assistant Director of Employer Relations, advising business students on career readiness and marketability and developing relationships with employers.
Currently, Coleman is employed at the University of South Carolina as the Senior Associate Director of Employer Relations and Experiential Education, a position they have held since October 2023.
Coleman Carlisle received their BA degree in Spanish and Political Science from Millsaps College in 2005. Coleman then went on to earn their JD degree in Law from the University of Mississippi School of Law, completing their studies in 2008. In 2011, they pursued a Master's degree in Public Administration with a focus on Higher Education Administration from The University of Georgia, which they completed in 2013.
