David Ruebain

Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Culture, Equality and Inclusion) at University of Sussex

David Ruebain currently serves as the Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Culture, Equality and Inclusion at the University of Sussex since October 2021, and has been an Equality Adviser for the FA Premier League since January 2005. Ruebain's previous roles include a consultancy position at Black Thrive from March 2021 to July 2023, Chief Executive at the Conservatoire for Dance and Drama from October 2018 to March 2021, and Chief Executive of the Equality Challenge Unit from June 2010 to March 2018. Additional experience includes serving as Director of Legal Policy at the Equality & Human Rights Commission and as a Partner at Levenes Solicitors, where Ruebain founded the Department of Education, Disability, and Equality Law. Educationally, Ruebain holds a Bachelor of Arts in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from the University of Oxford.
