David Clerk

David Clerk is the current Chief Operating Officer at University of Tasmania. Prior to this, they were the Executive General Manager - Strategy at Jemena from September 2007 to November 2010. From May 2004 to September 2007, they were the Executive General Manager Strategy and Finance - Asset Management at Alinta Ltd (acquired by SPI and Babcock and Brown - renamed Jemena). From December 2002 to May 2004, they were the Financial Controller at Mars Confectionary. From April 2000 to December 2002, they were the Strategy Manager at TXU Energy. David began their career at PricewaterhouseCoopers in January 1989 as a Director in Transaction Support and remained there until April 2000 when they transitioned to TXU Energy.

David Clerk has a commerce degree from the University of Tasmania in business, accounting. David is also a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.

Their manager is Alison Watkins, Chancellor. David Clerk works with Tim Strong - Head of School, Tas of Medicine, Jane Long - Provost, and Jillian Bye - Chief People Officer. Mike Hunnibell - Executive Director, Infrastructure Services & Development, Adrian Dillon - Chief Information Officer, and Jo Willsmore - Executive Director, Corporate Finance report to David Clerk.
