Jillian Bye

Jillian Bye is the Chief People Officer at University of Tasmania. Jillian has over 12 years of experience working in Human Resources, and has been with University of Tasmania since July 2020.

Prior to their current role, they were the HR Director at IBM Australia and New Zealand for 10 years. In that role, they were responsible for building collaborative teams across the HR Generalists, HR Integrated Service Teams and HR functional teams. Jillian also had expertise in Organizational Development and Design, Executive level performance management, career development and coaching, identification of top talent, and implementation of talent programs.

At University of Tasmania, Jillian is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Human Resources, including but not limited to recruitment, compensation, employee relations, and talent development. Under their leadership, the university has been able to attract and retain top talent, as well as create a high-performing culture throughout the organisation.

Jillian Bye completed a Bachelor of Behavioural Science at La Trobe University, majoring in Psychology and Economics. Jillian also attended Mac.Robertson Girls' High School.
