Nuala Byrne is a distinguished academic with extensive experience in the field of health sciences and exercise physiology. Currently serving as Professor and Head of the School of Health Sciences at the University of Tasmania since September 2016, Nuala has previously held the position of Professor at Bond University from February 2014 to September 2016, where Nuala directed the Collaborative Research Network for Advancing Exercise and Sports Science. Prior to that, Nuala worked at Queensland University of Technology for over a decade as a Professor specializing in exercise physiology and energy metabolism and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Nuala holds multiple degrees, including a PhD and a Master of Applied Science in Exercise Physiology from Queensland University of Technology, as well as a Bachelor of Human Movement Studies in Exercise Science from The University of Queensland.
