Fiona Berry has a diverse work experience in sustainability and climate change policy analysis. Fiona began their career as a Sustainability Consultant at Arup in 2001, where they worked until 2007. Fiona then joined Arup again in 2007 as a Senior Sustainability Consultant, before moving on to SAIC in 2009 as a Senior Climate Change Analyst. After that, Fiona worked as a Business Advisory Panel Facilitator at the City and County of San Francisco in 2010. In 2012, they took on the role of a Casual Project Officer at ClimateWorks Australia before joining the Institute for Sustainable Futures - University of Technology Sydney as a Senior Research Consultant. Fiona later became a Research Principal at the same institute in 2023.
Fiona Berry has a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Management (Sustainable Development) from The University of Queensland, which they obtained from 1999 to 2003. In 2002 and 2003, they also pursued a graduate year of study in Sustainable Development Research Institute at The University of British Columbia. In 2013, Fiona attended the Centre for Sustainability Leadership and obtained a Fellowship for Sustainability Leaders. In 2021, they completed a Deliberative Democracy Short Course at UTS Institute for Sustainable Futures. Additionally, in 2014, Fiona obtained a Permaculture Design Certificate from Milkwood Permaculture. In 2012, they also completed a Sustainable Electrical Energy Technology Assessment postgraduate short course at UNSW.
