Sheila Fontanive, LCAT, ATR-BC has a diverse work experience in the field of art therapy and social work. From 2007 to 2009, they worked as a Teaching Artist at Harlem Children's Zone and as an Art Therapist at FEGS. In 2011, they joined Good Shepherd Services as a Creative Arts Therapist and later became a Social Work Supervisor in 2014, holding both roles until 2018. From 2018 to 2020, Sheila served as a Program Director at Goddard Riverside Community Center. Sheila then transitioned to The Art Therapy Practice where they worked as a Program Manager from 2021 to 2023. In addition to their various roles, Sheila also served as MPS Art Therapy Department Faculty at the School of Visual Arts starting in 2017. Most recently, in 2023, they joined the University Settlement Society of New York as a Program Manager.

Prior to that, they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Art History and Political Science at Barnard College.
