Milka Okiddy

Milka Okiddy has a diverse work experience spanning several organizations. Most recently, they served as the Head Field Finance Office at UNRWA starting from September 2023.

Between 2011 and 2023, Milka held various roles at UNDP, including Operations Manager, Fund Management Specialist, Finance Manager (during a short-term detail assignment), and Head of Finance. In these positions, they provided advisory services on procurement, human resources, and program finance, managed a trust fund with a budget of $400 million annually, and ensured efficient financial resources management.

From 2008 to 2011, Milka worked as the Regional Operations Manager at UN Women, where they were responsible for strategic financial and human resources management, procurement services, and compliance with UN regulations and policies.

Prior to that, Milka held various finance positions in different organizations from 1990 to 2007.

Milka Okiddy completed their education in accounting and finance with a focus on management accounting. Milka obtained their Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants in 2019. Prior to that, they pursued a Master's Degree in International Finance at the University of Amsterdam from 1997 to 1998. In 1995, they earned a Certified Public Accountant qualification from the Institute of Certified Public Accountants Kenya.

In addition to their formal education, Milka Okiddy has also obtained additional certifications. In February 2020, they completed a course titled "Organisational behaviour: Know your people" from Coursera. In October 2017, they also obtained a certificate for completing the "Fundamentals of Project Planning and Management" course, also from Coursera.
