Randy Zingle has a strong background in software engineering and architecture. Randy has worked as a Principal Kafka Platform Engineer at Upgrade, Inc. since 2022. Before that, they were a Principal Software Engineer at Personal Capital from 2021 to 2022. From 2016 to 2021, they worked at SAS as a Principal Software Developer, where they were responsible for driving best practices and infrastructure build-out on cloud platforms and supporting Kafka adoption and Kubernetes rollout for microservices. Prior to that, they were a Software Architect at Amplify from 2013 to 2015, where they evaluated frameworks and created builds. Randy Zingle completed a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Physics at the University of Alberta from 1984 to 1989. Randy then pursued a Master's degree in Physics at Queen's University from 1990 to 1993. Finally, they studied Astronomy and Astrophysics at the University of Victoria from 1993 to 1999, although no degree was specified for this program.
