Cole MacLean

Cole MacLean is a highly skilled data scientist and machine learning engineer with extensive experience across various industries. Currently serving as Staff Machine Learning Engineer at Uplight since July 2021, Cole has previously held roles including Director of Data Science at Synauta, where responsibilities included designing data pipelines and machine learning models, and leading projects that transitioned from R&D to customer trials. At IBM, Cole contributed to the development of a pioneering deep learning solution for gold mine prospecting and managed a team of data scientists, while also actively promoting the Data Science community. Earlier experience at Cenovus Energy involved managing large data sets and improving operational efficiency, along with roles in project controls and production reporting at various energy companies. Cole holds a Master of Artificial Intelligence from Polytechnic University of Catalonia and a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering from Queen's University.
