Michael Sobota

Michael Sobota is a seasoned engineering leader with extensive experience in technology development and team management. Currently serving as VP of Engineering at Uplight since March 2019, Michael leads the creation of GridEdgeOS, a platform aimed at enhancing energy data management and supporting grid decarbonization efforts. Previously, as Director of Developer Experience at Charter Communications, Michael oversaw multiple engineering teams to develop a comprehensive platform for over 850 developers. Additional roles include Chief Operating Officer at Zipskee, where the focus was on executing technical vision in a startup environment, and Consultant at Slalom and Deloitte, concentrating on innovative data management solutions for the Life Sciences and Healthcare industries. Michael's early career included positions as a Teaching Assistant at Indiana University, an IT Analyst Intern at Comcast, and an IT Support Analyst at Glenbard School District 87. Michael holds a BS in Information & Process Management from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.
