Xuancheng Huang

Xuancheng Huang is a highly skilled research scientist with extensive experience in machine learning and data science. Currently serving as a Staff Research Scientist at Upstart since October 2023, Xuancheng previously held the role of Staff Data Scientist at Informed.IQ, where a semantic reasoning service for employer validation was implemented using Bing and GPT 3.5/4. Prior experience at Upstart includes leading the development of strategies to scale ML model training and implementing MLOps best practices for fraud detection. Xuancheng's earlier positions include Assistant Director of Research at Moody's Analytics, where macroeconomic models were developed for the financial industry, and academic roles at the University of Toronto, culminating in a PhD in Mathematical Finance. Academic contributions include lecturing on stochastic models and presenting research in machine learning.
