Yuji Iwasa has over 15 years of experience in the culinary industry. In 2021 they joined Upward Projects Restaurant Group, Local Bistro, Postino WineCafe, Joyride Taco House, Windsor, and Federal Pizza as the Culinary Director of independent concepts. Previously, they were the Corporate Culinary Director at GILA RIVER GAMING ENTERPRISES INC from 2019-2021, where they were a part of the executive team, leveraged outside vendors for menu streamlining, and provided the organization with innovative menus. From 2011-2019, they were the Corporate Executive Chef/Director of Culinary Innovation at P.F. Chang's China Bistro Inc., where they successfully implemented a redesign and re-branding of the national chain brand, provided culinary leadership to cross-functional teams, and negotiated contracts with vendors and suppliers. Prior to that, they served as the Executive Chef at The Standard Hotels from 2008-2011, overseeing all BOH operations for a 207-room boutique hotel. From 2006-2008, they served as the Executive Chef at Koi Restaurant & Lounge.
Yuji Iwasa completed their Bachelor of Science in Hotel, Motel, and Restaurant Management from California State Polytechnic University-Pomona. Yuji also obtained a Culinary Arts degree from Los Angeles Trade Technical College.
