Maurice Woods III

Maurice Woods III has a diverse range of work experience. Maurice is currently working as the Lead Avionics Test and Integration Engineer at Ursa Major since April 2022. Previously, they worked at CU Boulder School of Education as a Product Design and Instrumentation Engineer from October 2017 to April 2022. Before that, they were a Laboratory Equipment Engineer at MPI Probe Labs from October 2014 to October 2017.

In 2016, Maurice worked at the Colorado Center for Astrodynamics Research as a QB50 Challenger - Flight Software and Ground Systems Engineer, where they led the development of flight software and ground command system for the QB50 Challenger cubesat mission.

Before entering the engineering field, Maurice gained teaching experience as an Instructor of Physics and Astronomy at the Frontiers of Science Institute at the University of Northern Colorado in 2012. Maurice also worked as a Teacher Assistant and UNC COSGC Project Manager at the University of Northern Colorado from 2009 to 2012, where they assisted professors, graded assignments, supervised laboratory activities, and provided additional instruction to students.

Furthermore, Maurice has experience as a Robotics Engineer and Multimedia Designer at RoadNarrows Robotics, LLC from June 2012 to October 2014, as well as a Space Odyssey Galaxy Guide at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science from October 2011 to March 2012.

Lastly, in their early career, Maurice worked as a Natural Gas Pipeline Service Installation Supervisor at Woods Construction from May 2006 to August 2008, where they supervised a team and oversaw the installation of natural gas pipeline services.

Maurice Woods III holds a Master's degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical/Space Engineering, which they obtained from the University of Colorado Boulder in the years 2015 to 2017. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science in Physics at the University of Northern Colorado, from 2008 to 2012. Maurice's education journey started at Woodland Park High School, where they studied Music and Physical Sciences from 2004 to 2008.
