Lu Yao

Lu Yao is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in strategy, research, and education. Currently serving as the Director of Strategy at US Foods since June 2023, Lu previously held the position of Manager and Consultant at Bain & Company from October 2020 to June 2023. Lu's research background includes significant roles at the American Museum of Natural History as a Research Associate and Gerstner Postdoctoral Fellow, where projects focused on gibbon genomic diversity and the evolution of primates using ancient DNA. Additionally, Lu served as a Faculty Lecturer at Hunter College, teaching courses in biological anthropology and genetics while managing a team of teaching assistants. Lu earned a PhD in Evolutionary Biology from the University of Chicago and a BA in Anthropology and Biology from Northwestern University.
