Amy E. Gotwals has extensive work experience in public policy, advocacy, and external affairs. Amy E. has been with USAging since 2005 and currently holds the position of Chief, Public Policy and External Affairs, where they are responsible for leading the organization's public policy, advocacy, communications, marketing, external relations, and membership relations activities. Prior to this role, they served as the Senior Director, Public Policy and Advocacy, leading efforts to ensure resources and support services for older Americans and their caregivers. Amy also has experience in grassroots advocacy as the Manager of Grassroots Advocacy at the Center for Science in the Public Interest. Amy E. has held various positions in public policy and legislative affairs at organizations such as the Older Women's League, Alliance of Nonprofit Mailers, and The National Network for Youth. Amy began their career as an Assistant College Counselor at The Madeira School.

Amy E. Gotwals completed their B.A. in American Studies at Mount Holyoke College from 1987 to 1991. Amy E. then pursued an M.A. in Legislative Affairs at The George Washington University from 1996 to 1998.
