Larry Newfield, CISSP, CEH, CSM

VP Information Security and Compliance at USAN, Inc.

Larry Newfield has a diverse work experience in the field of information security and compliance. Larry started their career at United States Advanced Network, Inc. in 1989 as the Director of Information Systems, where they developed architecture and software for the company's first voice application processing platform. Larry then became the Senior Director, responsible for recruiting and managing systems engineers and administrators, as well as overseeing large-scale data center deployments. In 1999, they were promoted to Vice President Systems, Planning, and Support, where they led the system group and handled organizational development, platform architecture, network architecture, facilities engineering, and vendor management. In 2003, Larry joined USAN, Inc. as the VP Systems, Engineering, & Compliance, where they created the company's information security program and was responsible for all IT engineering and information security functions. Recently, they took on the role of VP Information Security and Compliance, overseeing USAN's enterprise-wide information security and GRC programs and leading the transition to a modern architecture based on microservices and serverless code in AWS. Throughout their career, Larry has demonstrated their expertise in information security and compliance, as evidenced by their CISSP, CEH, and CSM certifications.

Larry Newfield received a Bachelor of Science degree in Information and Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology, where they studied Computer Science from 1982 to 1986. In 2013, Larry obtained the CISSP certification from (ISC)². In 2016, they received the Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) certification from EC-Council. Lastly, in 2020, Larry obtained the Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) certification from the Scrum Alliance.
