Jason Basuil is a UX Engineer at User Interviews. Jason's professional engineering career began at Earnin, where they worked on the CX Tools pod and built internal tools for the company's customer support agents. Jason assisted in the migration of a legacy support application into an updated version that increased usability, lessened cognitive load, and implemented heightened security permissions for users. Jason also supported new product releases, like "Tip Yourself", and built user interfaces that often handled sensitive PII. In addition to their engineering work, Jason took on extra design work and volunteered to design UI mockups in Figma when resources were short.
Prior to joining Earnin, Jason was a software engineering student at Flatiron School. Jason's interest in technology began at a young age; when they were just seven years old, they built their first website. After graduating from college, Jason worked as a Product Specialist at Enjoy Technology, Inc., where they helped customers troubleshoot issues with the company's products. In their free time, Jason volunteered as a Co-Founder and Program Director for Destined for X, a nonprofit organization that provides mentorship and resources to students from underserved communities who are interested in pursuing careers in tech. Jason's passion for helping others led him to intern at LiquidPlanner, where they conducted market research to help the company better understand its target audience.
Jason Basuil attended Seattle University, where they received their Bachelor's degree in Biology/Biological Sciences, General. Jason then attended Flatiron School, where they completed their Software Engineering Immersive program. Jason Basuil finally completed their High School Diploma at Bellarmine College Preparatory.
Jason Basuil reports to Bob Saris, CTO. They work with Rachel Roppolo - Senior Software Engineer, Leopoldo Calderas - Software Engineer, and Eric Xian - Junior Software Engineer.
