Mona Haghighi

Mona Haghighi, PhD has extensive work experience in the field of data science. Mona is currently the Lead Data Scientist at USI Insurance Services, a position they have held since April 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Amazon as a Sr. Data Scientist from May 2022 to March 2023. From August 2018 to May 2022, Mona served as the Principal Data Scientist at Verizon, leading a team of junior data scientists and implementing data science and machine learning solutions for the IT department. During their tenure at Verizon, they contributed to significant cost savings by optimizing the number of agents in call centers and automated routing of tickets received by Enterprise Ticket Management Service. Before joining Verizon, they worked as a Statistician at Citi from September 2016 to August 2018. Mona's early career includes positions at the University of South Florida, where they served as a Graduate Fellow from August 2015 to August 2016 and as a Graduate Teaching Assistant from January 2012 to July 2015.

Mona Haghighi, PhD, holds a PhD degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of South Florida. Mona has also obtained additional certifications, including "Natural Language Processing with Deep Learning" from Stanford Center for Professional Development in 2019 and a SAS Base Programmer Certificate from SAS in 2015.
