Naiffer Romero

Principal Scientist - Scientific Affairs at U.S. Pharmacopeial Convention

Naiffer Romero has a diverse work experience in the fields of scientific affairs, strategic development, customer development, and photography. Naiffer is currently working at US Pharmacopeia as a Principal Scientist in Scientific Affairs, where they lead scientific outreach and engagement on Nitrosamine Impurities. Naiffer is also the founder and community manager of USP's Nitrosamine Exchange, an online community dedicated to Nitrosamines. Prior to this role, Naiffer served as a Senior Manager of Scientific Affairs LATAM at US Pharmacopeia, where they were responsible for scientific outreach and engagement on Nitrosamine Impurities. Naiffer has also worked as a Senior Strategic Development Manager for Latin America and a Strategic Customer Development Manager at US Pharmacopeia. Before joining US Pharmacopeia, Naiffer worked as a Scientist IV and Scientist III at AstraZeneca R&D, where they were involved in the development of new reference standard materials and the lead analytical activities for the development of new reference standard materials. Additionally, Naiffer has experience as a Chief Photographer at Naiffer Fashion Photography, where they collaborated with clients to define commercial and advertising needs and produced photoshoots for various clients in the fashion industry. Naiffer has also worked as a Scientist at Franklin Fuel Cells.

Naiffer Romero attended the Universidad Simón Bolívar from 1996 to 2002, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. They then pursued a Graduate Degree in Chemistry & Material Science at the University of Pennsylvania from 2004 to 2005.
