Hein van Wijlen has a diverse work experience in the field of data engineering and architecture. Hein started their career as a System Administrator at Ricoh Netherlands where they were involved in a data cleanup project. Hein then worked as a Temporary Employee at Essent, where they were part of a peak-team responsible for clearing backlogs in data quality prior to a system transition. At mobile.de, Hein worked as an ETL Consultant, designing and developing ETL processes for extracting data from DWH staging tables to develop reports for automotive dealers and marketing employees. Hein also worked as a Talend Data Integration Consultant at Phoenix Contact, primarily focusing on the extraction and processing of SAP data. Later, Hein joined AllShare as an ESB Consultant and cimt b.v. as a Talend ETL Consultant, where they worked on increasing the exposure and market share of Talend Software in the Netherlands. At Valcon (previously VIQTOR DAVIS), Hein served as a Solutions Architect, contributing to the company's projects until May 2022. Hein then joined Rubicon Cloud Advisor as an Azure Data Platform Architect, specializing in Azure data solutions, data integration, Azure DevOps, and Microsoft BI Tooling. Currently, Hein is working as an Azure Cloud Data Architect/Lead Data Engineer at Valcon, starting in October 2022. Throughout their career, Hein has demonstrated a passion for learning and adopting new technologies, particularly in the Azure Cloud environment.
Hein van Wijlen started their education at Stedelijk gymnasium 's-Hertogenbosch, where they studied "Economie en Maatschappij" from 1999 to 2005. After completing their high school education, they continued their studies at Tilburg University in 2005, focusing on "Bedrijfseconomie" for one year. In 2006, they transferred to Radboud University for an unspecified period of time but did not obtain a degree.
In 2008, Hein enrolled at Avans University of Applied Sciences, where they pursued a degree in "HBO Bachelor of ICT" with a specialization in "Business IT." Hein successfully completed their bachelor's degree in 2012.
In addition to their formal education, Hein has also obtained various certifications. In 2013, they received the "Talend Enterprise Big Data certification" and the "Talend Enterprise Data Integration certification" from Talend. Hein further expanded their skill set in 2016 by obtaining the "MCSA: SQL Server 2012/2014" certification from Microsoft, followed by the "MCPS: Microsoft Certified Professional" certification in June of the same year. In 2017, they achieved the "MCSE: Data Management and Analytics - Certified 2018" certification from Microsoft. Most recently, in September 2018, Hein obtained the "MCSA: SQL 2016 Business Intelligence Development" certification from Microsoft.
