Steve Nicklin

Steve Nicklin has over 28 years of experience in IT Consultancy, specializing in Programme and Portfolio Test Management. Steve has worked for various companies, including Valcon, Certeco, Ernst & Young, Applabs Technologies, Accenture Technology Solutions, and National Westminster Bank / Royal Bank of Scotland.

At Valcon, Steve served as a Senior Manager, focusing on delivering complex Business Transformation and Change Programmes. Steve developed collaborative testing solutions, built client and supplier relationships, and ensured smooth transitions into the production environment. Steve also delivered testing and continuous project assurance on large-scale ERP Business Transformation Programmes across sectors such as finance, insurance, utilities, and telecoms.

At Certeco, Steve held the role of Principal Consultant. Steve provided hands-on programme test management for major programmes, including large-scale ERP implementations such as SAP, Oracle, Guidewire, and Agresso. Steve conducted test maturity assessments, developed programme test strategies, managed large test teams, and ensured quality assurance of third-party supplier services.

During their time at Ernst & Young, Steve worked as a Programme Test Manager for Lloyds Banking Group. Steve was responsible for the delivery of BAT in support of the Finance function of Lloyds Banking Group Insurance, including the Back Book Migration project.

Steve also worked as a Principal Consultant at Applabs Technologies and as a Manager at Accenture Technology Solutions. Prior to that, they served as a Test Manager at National Westminster Bank / Royal Bank of Scotland.

Steve Nicklin attended Dudley Grammar School from 1970 to 1977. Following this, they went on to study at the University of Exeter from 1977 to 1981, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in History.
