James Tatum is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in portfolio management and trading. As the Founding Partner and Chief Investment Officer at Valent Asset Management LLC since October 2019, James has honed expertise in commodity-focused investment strategies. Prior to Valent, James served as a Portfolio Manager at Blenheim Capital Management, Millennium Management, and The Carlyle Group | Vermillion Asset Management, developing a strong foundation in asset management. James's career began in trading roles at Susquehanna International Group, where responsibilities included energy and metals trading, and later expanded to roles in sales and trading at Susquehanna International Securities. An educational background in Computer Science from Dartmouth College, complemented by an MBA in Finance and Strategy from IE Business School and a CAIA designation, underscores James's analytical and strategic capabilities in alternative investments.
