Thusara Sarath

Thusara Sarath has a diverse work experience spanning various companies and roles. They started their career as a Private Tutor, providing tutoring in Math, English, and Programming from September 2012 to May 2015. They then co-founded FFsplit and worked as the Lead C# Developer, focusing on rapid software development using Bitbucket revision control. This role lasted from January 2012 to June 2015.

After that, Thusara worked as a Software Engineer at NeuronicWorks Inc., where they designed and implemented a C# application for desktop content streaming. They also refactored graphics code into efficient DirectX code and created a DirectShow plugin. This role lasted from November 2015 to February 2017.

At AbacusNext, Thusara worked as a Software Developer, implementing new user stories, improving runtime performance, and fixing bugs. They also worked with SQL queries, views, functions, and stored procedures. This role lasted from February 2017 to February 2018.

Next, at Thomson Reuters, Thusara worked as a Software Engineer, primarily working on a C#/IIS/SQL/AngularJS application for budgeting and forecasting. They were responsible for designing and delivering a Windows service for syncing file system changes with an SQL database. They also worked on unit tests, integration tests, and build automation with Jenkins. This role lasted from February 2018 to December 2019.

After that, at Autonomic, Thusara worked as a DevOps Engineer. They maintained and improved the company's CI/CD system built on Concourse and ArgoCD. They also developed various microservices and scripts using Python, Go, Java, JavaScript, and Bash. They created Python templates to convert the previous deployment architecture to a GitOps architecture. This role lasted from December 2019 to October 2021.

At Figment, Thusara worked as a DevOps Engineer, automating various tasks related to blockchain nodes and validators on Linux. They also monitored blockchain uptime using Datadog and PagerDuty and troubleshooted any chain-related issues. This role lasted from December 2021 to January 2023.

Currently, Thusara is working at Validation Cloud as a DevOps Engineer, starting in April 2023.

Thusara Sarath attended Victoria Park Collegiate Institute where they completed their International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma in 2008. Following this, they went on to study at Ryerson University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree in Computer Engineering in 2015.
