Ken Shilling

Ken Shilling is currently the CFO at Valley Christian Schools. Prior to that, they were with Vanguard Ventures from August 2003 to December 2014, where they were responsible for all aspects of finance and administration and was the main contact for a limited partner base of over 320 investors in seven funds. Ken also maintained books for 8 fund entities, including limited partnerships and mgmt company, did quarterly reporting, tax prep, portfolio valuation, annual audits, LP requests, cash mgmt, budgeting, cap calls, stock & cash distributions to LP’s, deal analysis, and all admin functions including payroll, HR & IT.

From January 2000 to December 2002, Ken was the CFO at Crossfire Ventures, responsible for partnership taxes, HR/Benefits/IT, legal, and investment due diligence and monitoring. Ken also worked on QSBS 1045 rollover tax issues and “deemed worthless” write-offs, evaluated VC software, and provided financial consulting to portfolio companies as required. Ken was also the acting CFO at two portfolio companies in the internet & software sectors.

From January 1997 to December 1999, Ken was a CFO Consultant with MicroMuse/OnRadio.com.

Ken Shilling has a degree in economics from Stanford University and an MBA from Santa Clara University. Ken is also a certified public accountant (CPA).
