Tuija Kuusisto

Tuija Kuusisto (née Laanti) has extensive experience in public administration, academia, and cybersecurity. Currently serving as the 2nd Vice President of the City Board and a member of the City Council in Järvenpään kaupunki since June 2017, Tuija is also the chairman of the Coalition Party City Council members since June 2021. As an adjunct professor at the University of Jyväskylä, Tuija teaches a course on Cyber Security in the Public Sector. Tuija has been associated with the Finnish Defence Forces as an adjunct professor at the National Defence University of Finland and holds the position of Senior Ministerial Advisor at the Finnish Ministry of Finance, where Tuija contributed to Finland's Cyber Security Strategy 2024-2035. Engagements with the European Commission as an expert for Horizon proposals further highlight Tuija's expertise. Educational qualifications include a master's and doctoral degree in Geoinformatics from Teknillinen korkeakoulu-Tekniska högskolan.
