Alexis Jurgens

Alexis Jurgens has a diverse work experience in the field of architecture. Alexis currently works as an Architectural Designer II at Van Metre Companies, where they are responsible for creating all aspects of Architectural Permit Sets in AutoCAD for Single Family and Townhomes. Alexis also draws custom client options in home designs and creates various sets for State Approval. Prior to this role, Alexis worked as an Architectural Designer I at the same company, where they performed similar tasks.

Before joining Van Metre Companies, Alexis gained valuable experience as an Intern at Bohlin Cywinski Jackson, where they learned Revit to create renders for clients and worked on award submissions. Alexis also worked on studying conditions of a university auditorium and considering optimal design elements.

Alexis also worked as an Intern at The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company, where they had the opportunity to work on the Star Wars Galaxy's Edge project at Walt Disney World. Alexis collaborated with subcontractors, participated in site walks and meetings with Disney's architects and project managers, and solved problems on both coasts.

Additionally, Alexis has interned at BCT Architects in two different years, 2017 and 2016.

Alexis Jurgens pursued their education from 2011 to 2013 at Westlake High School. Alexis then attended St. Paul's School for Girls from 2013 to 2015, without obtaining a degree or specializing in any particular field of study. Finally, from 2015 to 2020, Alexis attended Virginia Tech where they obtained a Bachelor of Architecture degree and focused on studying Architecture.
