Melissa Palmer has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Melissa started their career as a Junior Researcher at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry - Oral Pathology in 1997. Melissa then interned at the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension - Forensic Science Toxicology Lab in 2002, where they played a key role in developing a new analytical method for detecting drugs in samples.
In 2003, Melissa worked as an Assistant Campaign Manager for the Duluth Mayoral Campaign, successfully managing 150 field volunteers and providing strategic guidance to the candidate. Melissa later joined Grandma's Restaurant Company in 1999, where they served as a Server and Server Trainer. Melissa recruited and trained staff, developed new products and promotions, and organized local philanthropic efforts.
Melissa then worked at AVERA Dermatology and Laser Center as a Patient Services Representative in 2006, where they implemented a Care Team strategy and executed training programs to enhance the customer experience. Melissa joined Red Bull as the Mobile Energy Team Manager in 2007, reviving the significance of the Mobile Energy Program in North and South Dakota. Melissa recruited, hired, trained, and managed a team of college-aged employees.
From 2007 to 2013, Melissa held various roles at ARAMARK Higher Education. Melissa started as a District Marketing Manager and later became an Interim Regional Marketing Director and a Sr. District Marketing Manager. Melissa played a crucial role in developing and executing marketing campaigns, ensuring customer and client satisfaction, and mentoring marketing coordinators.
In 2013, Melissa joined Forest Pharmaceuticals as a Pharmaceutical Sales Representative, utilizing their sales expertise. Currently, they are associated with Vance Thompson Vision. Melissa began as an Optometric Liaison in 2015 and has since held roles such as the Director of Practice Development and Marketing and the current role of Vice President of Professional Relations and Marketing, effective from January 2021. Their work experience showcases their expertise in marketing, sales, team management, customer service, and strategic planning.
