Vivian Sum is an accomplished communications professional with extensive experience in health research and community outreach. Currently serving as the Director of Communications and Partnerships at Vancouver Coastal Health Research Institute since April 2013, Vivian provides senior leadership for communications strategies that enhance the visibility of health research initiatives. Previously, Vivian held various roles including Senior Communications Manager and Brand and Communications Leader at BC Health Research Connection Project, contributing to the design of a provincial online platform to promote health research awareness. Additional experience includes positions at UBC Campus and Community Planning and the UBC/VCH Centre for Hip Health and Mobility, as well as an academic background with a Master of Arts in Communications Studies from West Virginia University, a Bachelor of Fine Arts from The University of British Columbia, and credentials as an ARCT Piano Teacher from The Royal Conservatory of Music.
