Brent Hicks

Brent Hicks is an experienced information technician currently employed at Vancouver Island Regional Library since February 2020, where responsibilities include providing reader’s advisory and reference services, maintaining branch collections, and training users in eResources. Prior to this role, Brent held various positions at SNC-Lavalin from 2014 to 2020, including Shared Services Supervisor and IT Technician, focusing on information systems management, document control, and technical support. Experience also includes a tenure at Diavik Diamond Mines Inc. as a Specialist in Records Management, and as a Records Administrator for the Department of Energy in Alberta. Brent holds a Diploma in Library & Information Management and a Certificate in the Information Administrator Program from Grant MacEwan Community College, with additional education from Vancouver Island University in 2020.
