Chief Equity Officer And Professor Of Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center

Consuelo H. Wilkins, M.D. has held various roles throughout their career. Consuelo H. started in 2000 as an Associate Professor of Internal Medicine, Geriatrics, Surgery & Psychiatry at Washington University School of Medicine. In 2012, they became the Executive Director and Associate Professor of Medicine at Meharry-Vanderbilt Alliance. Since 2019, they have been working at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, first as the Vice President of Health Equity and Professor of Medicine, and currently as the Chief Equity Officer and Professor of Medicine.

Consuelo H. Wilkins, M.D. received their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Microbiology from Howard University School of Arts and Sciences in 1992. Consuelo H. then went on to attend Howard University College of Medicine and obtained their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree in 1996. Dr. Wilkins completed their Residency in Internal Medicine at Duke University Medical Center from 1996 to 1999. Consuelo H. further pursued their education at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, where they earned a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Clinical Investigation. Dr. Wilkins then completed a Fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at Barnes-Jewish Hospital/Washington University School of Medicine from 1999 to 2000.
