Heather Slagell

Heather S. is an accomplished financial leader with extensive experience in higher education and enterprise IT management. Currently serving as the Chief Business Officer for Vanderbilt University's Information Technology (VUIT) since June 2019, Heather S. is responsible for developing financial strategies, leading finance teams, and maintaining fiscal accountability across the organization. Previously, Heather S. held key roles at Louisiana State University, including Assistant Vice President of Enterprise IT Service and Operations, and contributed to significant improvements in IT funding models and service level agreements. With a solid educational foundation comprising an MBA in Management from Illinois State University and a BA in MIS and Marketing from Augustana College, Heather S. has a proven track record of streamlining business processes, managing vendor relationships, and advocating for effective management practices in various capacities throughout a career spanning over two decades.
