Jim J.

Jim J. has a diverse work experience in the field of information security and cybersecurity. Jim is currently serving as the Vice President and Information Security Officer at Vantage West Credit Union, where they identify and evaluates legal, regulatory, and cybersecurity risks for information assets. Previously, they worked as an Adjunct Professor of Cybersecurity at Seattle Pacific University, teaching graduate-level courses on blockchain for business and cybersecurity risk management. Prior to that, Jim held various roles at BECU, including Director of Digital Asset Protection and Director of Cybersecurity Architecture. In these roles, they led teams, developed strategies, and implemented security measures to protect digital assets and ensure compliance. Jim also served as a Senior Manager in the Windows and Devices Group at Microsoft, where they led a team to support worldwide developers and optimize web experiences through real-time analytics and machine learning. Before Microsoft, they worked at Cambia Health Solutions as a Manager of Software Development, overseeing the development of web portals and data management systems. Jim J. completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Computer Science and Psychology from the University of Central Lancashire from 2020 to 2025. Prior to that, Jim earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Communication Arts and Sciences from Calvin University.
