York Haemisch, Ph.D., MSc. Eng., has extensive experience in the field of x-ray imaging technologies. York is currently working as the Manager of External Research at Varex Imaging Corporation, the world's largest supplier of x-ray imaging technologies. Prior to that, they were the Director of Medical & Research Markets at Direct Conversion, a leading company in the application of hybrid photon counting detectors. At Direct Conversion, Haemisch oversaw the development and supply of advanced photon counting x-ray detectors to major OEMs. Before joining Direct Conversion, Haemisch worked as a Technology Consultant from 2015 to 2017. York also served as a Marketing Manager at Philips Digital Photon Counting (PDPC) from 2010 to 2014, where they played a key role in developing the first Digital SiPM and exploring new opportunities in light detection. York Haemisch, Ph.D., MSc. Eng. began their education in 1984, studying at Technische Universität Dresden, where they acquired their Masters in Physics with a focus on nuclear physics in 1989. York then pursued their studies at The Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg, completing their Ph.D. in Solid State Physics from 1990 to 1994. Continuing their academic journey, York attended The Wharton School from 1999 to 2002 and obtained an Executive Masters of Technology Management, specializing in Technology Management.
