Jeffrey Wheeler, Ph.D. has worked in various roles in the engineering field since 2009. From 2009-2010, they were a Langley Aerospace Research Summer Scholar at the NASA Langley Research Center. In 2011, they began working at the Colorado School of Mines as an Adjunct Professor and Graduate Research Assistant, conducting research in the field of optical spectroscopic measurements for energy systems. In 2017, they accepted a role as Senior Mechanical Engineer at Vartega Inc., providing diagnostic expertise to refine and improve the carbon fiber recycling process. Jeffrey also began working as a Teaching Associate Professor and Teaching Assistant Professor at the Colorado School of Mines, using their startup experience and connections to bring real-world problems into the classroom.
Jeffrey Wheeler, Ph.D. obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Engineering Systems from the Colorado School of Mines between 2013 and 2016. Prior to that, they obtained their Master's degree in Engineering Systems from the Colorado School of Mines between 2011 and 2013. Between 2007 and 2011, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Engineering Physics and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Mathematics from Whitworth University.
