Mingkai Shao

Mingkai Shao has been working in the tech industry since 2010. Mingkai started as a Software Engineer at ViXS Systems Inc. in 2010, then moved to Evertz as a Senior Video Compression Engineer in 2012. In 2019, they joined AMD as an MTS, and in 2021 they became a Principal Engineer at Vastai Technologies.

Mingkai Shao has a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Multimedia Communication & Coding from McMaster University, a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Computer Science from Wuhan University, and a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in both Computer Engineering and Communications Engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology. Mingkai also holds a P.Eng. certification from Professional Engineers Ontario.
