Achim Schmidt

Achim Schmidt is an experienced engineer specializing in offshore wind foundations, currently serving as the Lead Engineer for Floating Foundations at Vattenfall since June 2023. Prior to this role, Achim worked as a Senior Key Expert in Floating Offshore Wind at Siemens Gamesa for six months and held the position of Lead Engineer at Vattenfall from April 2019 to January 2023. Achim's career includes significant experience at COWI A/S, where roles ranged from Project Engineer to Senior Specialist in Offshore Wind, focusing on marine and foundation engineering. Earlier positions also include Project Engineer roles at Ramboll Offshore Wind and IMS Ingenieurgesellschaft mbH. Achim holds a Diplom-Ingenieur degree in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering from Technische Universität Berlin, completed in 2009.
