Ulrik Beste

Ulrik Beste is the current Chief Technical Officer at VBN Components. Ulrik has over 20 years of experience in the field of materials science and tribology.

Beste began their career in 1999 as a doctoral student at Uppsala University, studying materials science and tribology. After completing their studies, they worked as a materials specialist at Atlas Copco Secoroc AB from December 2004 to April 2007. In this role, they worked on the development and optimization of cemented carbides used in rock drills, as well as on tribological projects.

In April 2007, Beste joined Erasteel Kloster AB as a project leader and product developer. At Erasteel, they worked on the development of high-speed steels, powder metallurgy, metal powder atomization, and compaction. In their last years at the company, they served as the project leader of the atomization part of the new Durin metal powder factory.

Beste left Erasteel in 2012 to become the Chief Technical Officer at Robustus Wear Components AB. Ulrik held this position until December 2012, when they joined VBN Components as CTO.

Ulrik Beste has a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Materials Science and Tribology from Uppsala University, a Licentiate degree in Materials Science and Tribology from Uppsala University, and a Master of Science in Engineering Physics with Materials Science from Uppsala University. Ulrik also has a Gymnasieexamen in Teknisk Linje from Westerlundska Gymnasiet.

They are on a team with Beatrice Woolford - ERP Manager & Administrator, Julia Sjöström - Technical Sales Engineer, and Tofazzal Hussein - Process Technician. Their manager is Magnus Bergman, CEO.
